During his law school tenure, Mr. Blauvelt was a litigation law clerk with the preeminent New York law firm of Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison. As a third-year law student, Mr. Blauvelt was a Student Assistant District Attorney with the office of the New York County District Attorney, Robert Morgenthau. During his tenure at the New York County District Attorney's Office, Mr. Blauvelt successfully prosecuted eviction cases against convicted New York City drug dealers who used landlord's properties to further their criminal activities.

Since 1992, Mr. Blauvelt has successfully prosecuted and defended through trial commercial disputes, complex tort actions, and employment-related cases before New York and New Jersey state and federal courts.

Mr. Blauvelt also has appeared as an appointed arbitrator in the State of New Jersey defending insurance companies' interests in numerous UM/UIM automobile insurance arbitration hearings, as well as defending through trial companies sued in products liability claims and class actions in New Jersey and New York.

Mr. Blauvelt now focuses his criminal and traffic law practice throughout the State of New Jersey defending individuals in various New Jersey Superior Courts, New Jersey Municipal Courts, and before the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission.  Mr. Blauvelt also defends juveniles charged with criminal offenses throughout the State of New Jersey in various New Jersey Family Courts.

Mr. Blauvelt is a former New Jersey Municipal Prosecutor who has prosecuted cases in the Flemington Municipal Court, North Hunterdon Municipal Court, Raritan Township Municipal Court, Readington Municipal Court, Bloomsbury/Bethlehem Municipal Court, Union Township Municipal Court, and Allamuchy Municipal Court. 

Mr. Blauvelt is also a Public Defender in the Edison Township Municipal Court.
